used to refer to a man, boy, or male animal that has already been mentioned or is already known about

برای اشاره به مرد، پسر یا حیوان نر که قبلاً ذکر شده یا قبلاً در مورد آن شناخته شده است استفاده می شود

used when talking about someone who may be male or female. Some people think this use is old-fashioned
