behaving or speaking in a way that is correct for the social situation you are in, and showing that you are careful to consider other people’s needs and feelings
رفتار یا صحبت کردن به گونه ای که برای موقعیت اجتماعی که در آن قرار دارید درست باشد و نشان دهید که مراقب نیازها و احساسات دیگران هستید.
you make polite conversation, remarks etc because it is considered socially correct to do this, but not necessarily because you believe what you are saying
شما مکالمه مودبانه، اظهارات و غیره انجام می دهید زیرا از نظر اجتماعی انجام این کار صحیح تلقی می شود، اما نه لزوماً به این دلیل که به آنچه می گویید اعتقاد دارید.
